Key to Success—Relationships
Our success has been, and continues to be, based on establishing and maintaining long-standing relationships with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors and vendors.
There is only one way to establish and maintain extended relationships, and that is through continually meeting and when possible exceeding peoples’ expectations. There can be no complacency at any time in the relationship. We continually strive to set ourselves distinctively apart from our competitors, and believe that our present standing with very demanding clients bears this out.

Clients
Walmart
Our relationship with Walmart began in 1981. We have constructed over one 100 projects for Walmart inclusive of new stores, expansions, remodels and “special” projects.
Walmart has long been viewed as one of the most demanding clients in the retail construction sphere. Their requirements, expectations, programs and procedures have become significantly more challenging in recent years. While numerous other general contracting firms have failed and/or gone by the wayside, Crane Construction has elevated our performance accordingly, and we remain one of their “premier contractors.”
Associated Wholesale Grocers
Our relationship with Associated Wholesale Grocers of Kansas City began in 1985. We have constructed over 50 projects for them and/or through them inclusive of new stores, expansions and remodels.
The opportunity to work in conjunction with the actual store operators is refreshing and rewarding, offering a close and personal connection which we truly value and embrace.
Kohl’s
Our relationship with Kohl’s began in 2005. We have constructed over 60 projects for them inclusive of new stores, takeovers, remodels and “special” projects.
We continually meet or exceed Kohl’s expectations, having achieved their “Gold Standard” or “A Rating” throughout our relationship with them. We proudly remain recognized as one of their top new store and remodel contractors.
Crane Construction has been very actively involved with Kohl’s, with David Crane serving on their General Contractors Advisory Board. Our project managers and project superintendents are integral partners with Kohl’s construction and design teams in the development of their new stores and remodel programs, which has resulted in new stores being delivered in 16 weeks and fully remodeled stores being delivered in six weeks, with minimal impact on store shopability during construction.
Testimonials
“Crane Construction is a terrific Contractor to work with. One of many things that makes them stand out from other contractors is the fact that they always work with you to resolve construction issues, changes or questions. As you know you can’t always predict what existing conditions will affect your project, but Crane Construction always go the extra mile to make things work. They stand up for what is right and do the right things. You always know that they are on your side.”

“Crane Construction is unique in today’s high paced construction industry. They are a company that still holds the customer in high regards through their honest, price-conscious and valued-dollar approach in the industry. Their high standards in job performance, quality of work, customer satisfaction, project cost, management and execution are proven factors with this industry leader. Any owner would be extremely pleased to work with Crane Construction who watches out for your budget dollars, and has such a high standard of company excellence and performance.”
“The people at Crane Construction are very knowledgeable and use a “hands on” approach to construction. They know when to ask questions and provide comments to the designers, in order to make the project more efficient and constructible. They also know when not to ask questions, in order to reduce unnecessary RFI’s. The superintendents, project managers and owner are all involved in the project and are a pleasure to work with.”

“When we decided to renovate our Bank CBO branch in Savannah, we knew it would be a challenge to keep the old bank look while updating and refreshing the building. That’s where Crane Construction Company came in! From the pre-planning stage to project completion, Crane Construction has been great to work with and has delivered a quality project. What makes it even better, is the fact that we have built a lasting relationship with a reputable company and with the individuals that work there.”
