Our People
Crane Construction Company commenced operations in 1956 as a family owned and operated general contracting firm that, in the beginning, was primarily involved with school construction.
In the 1970s the direction of the company began to change with a gradual shift to retail construction.
By the early 1980s the vast majority of our work was in retail construction and we have been fully committed to the retail segment for the past thirty years.

Upper Management
David Crane
PresidentDavid has been with Crane Construction since 1981. David represents the third generation of his family in the company business. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. David and his well-respected father Dwight worked hand-in-hand for several years. David started off as an estimator and became heavily involved in all facets of the business before becoming President in 2000.
He oversees the company’s goals and objectives, overall operation, policies, and business development. He continues to work directly with clients on a day-to-day basis. He remains actively involved in project estimating, bidding, and oversight
Galen Bodenhausen
Corporate Secretary / ControllerGalen has been employed with Crane Construction since 2001. He graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. His responsibilities include the overall fiscal functions of Crane Construction and its subsidiaries. Galen also oversee internal and external accounting operations and procedures including financial tax reports, tax and audit functions, and office management, as well as necessary interactions with bonding and insurance partners.
Project Management
Nick Salmons
Project Manager / EstimatorNick has been with Crane Construction since 2009. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Missouri University of Science & Technology (formerly University of Missouri at Rolla) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Architectural Engineering. He is involved in all facets of the company, with his responsibilities including estimating, project management, program development, and BIM coordination.
Bob Beahler
Project Manager / EstimatorBob has been with Crane Construction since 2003. He graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics. His responsibilities include Walmart project management, estimating, and overall program oversight.
Jake Elgert
Project ManagerJake has been with Crane Construction since 1990. Jake started as a project foreman and superintendent. He became a project manager in 2006.
His responsibilities include project management and estimating for our Kohl’s-New Store Program. Jake also oversees LEED certification and commissioning.
Darin Libbert
Project ManagerDarin has been with Crane Construction since 2008.
Office Personnel
Kevin Salmons
IT ManagerKevin has been with Crane Construction since 2010. His responsibilities include IT, I-9 compliance and controlled access. Kevin also contributes to the day-to-day operations of Crane Construction via his interaction with the project managers and project superintendents on various day-to-day functions.
Bethany Frisbie
Human Resource AssistantBethany has been with Crane Construction since 2012. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Business Administration. Her responsibilities include payroll, employee benefits, I-9 compliance and controlled access administration.
